Mariliz is an attorney licensed to practice in the state of California. She has a law degree from Southwestern Law School and a Master degree in Latin American Studies from California State University, Los Angeles.

She has been practicing since 2015 mostly with nonprofit organizations. In 2019, she started her own law firm as a participant of the Los Angeles Incubator Consortium (LAIC) Program.

She was born in Brazil where her interest for the immigrant community began with her academic work documenting the Bolivian immigrant community in her hometown of Corumba. 

​

She speaks Spanish and has been involved with the Hispanic Community in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles, CA.
